Via Ferrata - Climbing at Lake Idro

The climbing area at Lake Idro has, within the latest years, been highly expanded.. If you don´t have your own climbing equipment, you can rent it in the reception.

Via Ferrata at Lake Idro

The Ferrata-routes at Lake Idro are expanded every year – and new routes are opened. In the districts Vesta and Crone you will find different Ferrata´s with a variation of severities.

Vea Ferrata Crènch – route is located in Crone district. It leads you over an, aprox. 400 meter long, vertical bridge towards Gipfelkreuz. From here you have a fantastic view over the southern part of the lake.

Via Ferrata Sasse takes you to the district of Vesta, via a horizontal route of aprox. 3 km, in the direction of Bondone. From here on it will be climbing on your way back to Vesta. This is an absolutely unique experience… so close to the lake! In high season you can choose the boat traffic on the way back – this way you will experience the trip one more time – from the water.

Familie Canyon excursion

We are offering a special excursion – a family Canyon excursion which, in high season takes place every day. The trip will be guided by a mountain guide and last for 3-4 hours. It leads you through a unique climbing area with clefts and suspension bridges. The trip offers a unique cleft with an aprox. 30 meter long Tibetan bridge, which you will pass with the help of a rope and the guide. After this the trip is aprox. a 1 hour ferrata through a super exciting cleft, which you, together with your children and young people, have to pass. You cross the gorge above the water and at the end of the trip, you will have a great experience to talk about. Climbing equipement is included in the price. Information and booking takes place in the reception – if possible early.

Free-climbing

In the 2 nearby districts of Vesta and Crone, you will find two challenging climbing walls. Around Lake Idro, you will find rocks and about 40 climbing routes.

Climbing areas nearby

The area around Lake Idro will give, the experienced climber, plenty of possibilities to live out their dreams. Suspension bridges with a variation of severities, Ferrata´s with variation of length and routes, chutes, zip lines and slaglines above clefts.

Climbing trips – excursions for more than one day

If this is not enough, you can go on a trip from Sportcamp to the high mountains (Dolomiti di Brenta, Madonna di Campiglia, Adamello, Val di Genova, Val di Chiese etc.). You can do it on your own, or you can do it together with a mountain guide. We will be more than happy to help you to contact educated mountain guides, who offers more than one kind of excursion – also for more than one day.
